"Have Fun" card - More than Words July mini challenge

Hello all!

It is the middle of summer here in Greece and so hot right now! But I am loving it!

It's time for our mini challenge at More than Words

And this is my eco card. I used burlap as my card base and made a design with a Prima stencil and 3d gloss gel and Finnabair mica powder in Rust. I then glued some lace, die cut leaves and a large Prima flower. My card was decorated with Pimpinella Anisum, Coriander and Cinammon sticks. It smells great!!!

Cinammon sticks and coriander.

I love Pimpinella Anisum's star shape!

Here's how it works:

The Mini Challenge runs on the last week of each month and is for
cards, tags and ATCs only. (ATCs, or Trading Cards, are small works of art,
about 2.5 by 3.5inches or 64 x89mm).
This challenge requires you to use a specific word on your project.
We must see the actual word.
You have only only one week - until the last of the month - to enter, so be quick!

Entry for the Mini Challenge is only via our Facebook page
under the relevant post.

Cant wait to see your creations!

Life is Beautiful - Dusty Attic moodboard layout

Hello my crafty friends!

Today I want to show you my interpretation of the Dusty Attic July moodboard

I went for the colors of the moodboard but on darker shades, I love dramatic dark layouts lately. Of course, Dusty Attic chippies are the key element of my layout.

The Lace Border #4 was heat embossed with 4 different Lindy's Stamp Gang embossing powders.

I cut of the end part of the Ornate Pendants #3 and placed it under my photo.

The abstract frame was also heat embossed with Lindy's powders and then dry brushed with Colourarte Silks. The Foliage was misted with Lindy's mists and dry brushed with Silks as well. They really come to life!

Lots of Finnabair art ingredients here too. Background was made with 3d gloss gel and Rust mica powder and then sprayed with lots and lots of Lindys mists. The paper is from the 7 Dots Studio Collection "Fortune Teller".

For a complete list of DA products used please visit the DA blog

I hope I inspired you to create with your Dusty Attic Products and remember, if you play along with our monthly challenge you may win a 100$ gift voucher from the shop!

Crackle drawers - Valia Katzaki

Hello everyone!

Today I would like to show you another inspirational piece made with Dusty Attic products.

We always talk about the amazing Dusty Attic chipboard designs, but what about Dusty in Colour

Dusty Attic has the most amazing shades of acrylic paints, that have amazing coverage and durability. So I thought I should dedicate one project solely to the acrylics, Yes, no chippies at all on this one, just luscious Dusty in Color acrylics! ;)

My Greek friends can find drawers like these in Scraps n Pieces Emporium

Another view. I primed my drawers with gesso and then I applied Finnabair white crackle paste and let it dry thoroughly overnight. Finnabair paste gives the most amazing crackles so its best to let dry naturally. While the paste was still wet I embossed some fimo embellishments I made out of Prima IOD moulds. I painted the base of the drawers with Dusty in Colour Navajo White and Alabaster leaving the crackled areas unpainted.

To paint the drawers, I made a wash of Raisin and Sugar Plum, i.e. I dilluted a small amount of colour in lots of water. I didnt want to cover the crackles, instead I wanted to highlight them. All the drawers were painted with a pea-sized blotch of paint! Talk about pigment, right?

I randomly stamped with brown stazon ink when everything was dry. I also used some Prima Artisan Powder to further age my drawers.

Ta dah! Ready!

A view from the top. The dilluted colors went inside the crackles and highlighted them beautifully.

Smile - Layout for More than Words July challenge

Hello my crafty friends!

Its the beginning of July and we have another challenge for you at More than Words

Word Inspiration - SMILE
Creative Challenge - SKETCH

What does the word SMILE inspire you to create? You can choose to add the word somewhere on your project or simply be inspired by it. Please explain in your blog post how the word inspired you, if not already obvious.

Use this fabulous SKETCH, designed by our very own DT member Helen Hapsi, as inspiration. Feel free to turn the sketch in any direction you prefer. You can interpret any element of it as you wish, as long as we can see that it was the basis of your creation.

Dont you love the sketch? I sure did!

13 Arts papers, Prima flowers, Lindy's Stamp Gang mists and an anamzing photo by Au Contraire photography!
